A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

Why Layer exists.

Hi, I’m Max. I’m building Layer at North Common Studios in Ireland.

The fragrance that started it for me was Creed Aventus. It was the first bottle that pulled me into collecting, and into the community around it: the recommendations, the friendly arguments, and the people who care about a good bottle as much as you do. That community is what keeps fragrance fun, and it is who I am building Layer for.

Fragrance is one of the few things we choose every single day and rarely talk about properly. The communities around it are warm, funny and endlessly generous, but the tools have never been as good-looking as the bottles.

So Layer is built to be calm, beautiful and quick, and to respect both your collection and your privacy. It is independent. No fragrance house is behind it, and nobody pays to appear in your picks.
